Ive come across a user with an odd - random problem with their emails. They have found from time to time that :
1. Either an email they receive is blank (except the title and who its from)
2. The email they receive appears and then disappears right before their eyes.
Has anyone come across this before ? I called HTC technical support and they advised me to hard reset the device, but that to me feels like a hammer to crack a nut scenario. I asked them too if they had come across this fault before and they hadnt, so there is no guarantee that it would work any way.
The device is set to download the whole of the email.
Details of his device are:Windows mobile 6 professionalCE 0s 5.2.1622 Build 18128.0.4.42007 ms corpProcessor: msm7200-400mhzmem: 101.67mbExpansion slot : in use Touch Dual
Do those specific black e-mails show up in Outlook or Outlook Web access? Perhaps the message had bad encoding that the Mobile Phone cannot display properly. Also, have you tried changing the phone to download headers only so see how this affects the problem?
In Outlook and OWA the emails appear fine. The phone is set to download everything.
The message could have had some bad encoding, but this is happening randomly. Even internal emails are being effected. So the problem appears to point at the device and not the actual email it'self.
