I'm playing with a Compaq t5000 now. To get to a "logon" screen, hold down "Shift" while you "Log off".

Browse All TopicsI'm currently evaluating the HP Compaq t5000 thin client running CE.NET. I'm also using the Altiris Deployment Solution to manage this device. I need some help setting up the user accounts on the t5000. There is an 'Administrator' and a 'User' account that I have enable and configured. I'd like to make sure that the 'User' account is locked down so that no one other than 'Administrator' may make changes. The difficulty that I've run into is this. Once the configuation is complete and 'User' is set to automatically log in I can find no way to change the login setting back to the 'Administrator' account. The user account does not have access to the 'Security' applet in the Control Panel. I'm guessing that there is a keystroke that I can use on boot but I can find no information on this. I would appreciate any help.

Before 'user' logs in, there is a countdown timer. During this, there is a certain key combination you need to press. I use HP t5510's & HP t5520's, and for these the key combination is alt+f4. I know combinations for other terminals can be: <windows key> + L, or also hold down the shift key or ctrl key during login.
Hope that helps cheers.
