I would like to use Microsoft Remote Desktop to do this. From what I understand CE does have support for Remote Desktop, but everything I read seems to indicate that a CE device can only be a client and not a host. Is this correct? Any suggestions for products that would allow me do remotely control a CE machine via dial up modem?

Can you use Remote Display:
http://download.microsoft.
You would have to have device connected to desktop and then you could use remote display to see device on desktop and then use Remote Desktop to connect to desktop remotely. An extra step but it might open an option.
