Cannot sync Outlook Notes with Windows Mobile 5.0 running on HTC2125 Smartphone - cannot even see Notes

I saw in earlier threads that some people get an error message when trying to sync Notes with their PDA. I should be so lucky.

I cant even get Notes as as option to sync.

I had the iPaq running Windows Mobile 5.0, and everything worked fine. I switched it to the new Ciongular HTC2125, and when running Activesync, I dont get 'Notes' as one of the available items to sync:
i.e., when I go to Tools->Options, I dont see 'Notes' as an item I can check or uncheck. I can sync the rest of the Outlook items just fine (calender, contacts, email, tasks)
