Thank you for trying to help. After waiting for two days, I solved it on my own! I had to re-install Outlook via the add/remove programs again. It seems this mobile device is problematic in terms of synching.

Browse All TopicsHello,
I have a Pocket PC 6700 running MS Windows Mobile 5.0 and want to synchronize it (using ActiveSync 4.1) with my PC running Office 2003 SBE under Win XP SP2. Everytime I attempt to synchronize--which would be add contacts, calendar and tasks to my phone, I get this same message:
ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop Support Code 85010014.
I went to the ActiveSync website where it recommended uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook. I did this--I actually uninstalled/reinstalled ALL of Office 2003 SBE. Now, when I go to synchronize, I get the same Support Code message.
PLEASE help!

Is ActiveSync only sync-ing with your PC?
Have you tried running a Detect and Repair on Outlook? How did you obtain the version of ActiveSync you are using? Is it the one that came with it? Sometimes it helps to download this fresh from MS.
I've never played with this using Office 2007, but have had untold hours working with it with the 2003 version!

I didn't try the D&R on Outlook, 'cause I did the Office upgrade late on Friday before I left the office. I don't know that I would have thought of that because I thought it was more of an ActiveSync problem rather than an Office problem, but I'll give it a shot. I downloaded the version of ActiveSync directly from MS. I hardly ever use software from another vendor that comes with a device as it is very often several months/versions old.
I'm looking for D&R in 2007--is it called something else?
I don't know where D&R is in 2007. Have you tried Help? Or the old fashioned way through the Control Panel-->Add/Remove Programs. Select MS Office and there should be an option there as well. Big thing you want to remember is to make sure you're not running any Office apps while you're performing the D&R. :)mhs
You know I didn't check ActiveSync until I posted the first time this morning, but it seems to have resolved itself. I didn't do anything different than I have been doing other than shut it down on Friday and then, as is my usual routine when I arrive here at the office in the mornings, plug in my phone and boot up. Perhaps it needed [another] reboot. Whatever the case, it seems to be working now with no error. Thanks for your time and suggestions. I do appreciate your interest in helping.
the D&R in office 2007 is called SCANPST.exe and should be located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12
I'm having Active Sync support code 86000108 and after repairing the file using scanpst it then returned the error here.
The only thing I've done differently is I installed Business Contact Manager, but it seems after a few unplugs it is now finally going thru...
Hope this helps someone.
