Connect to MySQL with Window Mobile 5.0 VB.NET App

I am writing a Window Mobile 5.0 application in VB.NET in Visual Studio 2005, I want to let my application connect to a database which is mySQL on a server, how do I do that??? It will be best if there is a website for me to learn how to do it???

According to the documentation at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/connector-net-versions.html, the MySQL Connector/Net version 5.1 is compatible with the .Net Compact Framework 2.0.  So, you should be able to use the MySql* classes from that assembly just like any other ADO.Net classes.

You'll need to download the MySQL Connector/Net assembly and save it somewhere on your system (and in a folder in the search path on your embedded system).  Then from your project in Visual Studio, add a reference to the assembly.  After that, they should be available to your program; but note that they're in the MySql.Data.MySql namespace, instead of System.Data.* like the rest of the ADO.Net classes.

It's likely that you have to add the system.data reference because system.data is where the data-access classes reside, and it makes sense for the MySql connector to depend on them.  However, if you also add the directive "Imports MySql.Data.MySql", you should be able to use the second declaration you listed instead of being forced to explicitly reference the namespace path (as in the first declaration).
