The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

WinCE6 Emulator Question

Hello,
I am using VS2005/vb.net to develop an app for a single board computer running WinCE6. I have installed pro and standard Win Mobile6 SDKs and active sync. The target board uses a 640x480 LCD. When starting the project I get the following choices:
Pocket PC 2003
Windows Mobile 6 Pro
Windows Mobile 6 Std
SmartPhone 2003
Win CE5.0.

If I choose Windows Mobile 6 Pro I get a form that is constrained by a "skin" showing a mobile device. If I change the "forms" size I can force a larger area that matches the target. The build EXE works as expected on the target.

However, when deploying to the "emulator", my choices are:
1) Pocket PC 2003 Device
2) Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator
3) Pocket PC 2003 SE Square Emulator
4) Pocket PC 2003 SE Square VGA Emulator
5) Pocket PC 2003 SE Square  Emulator
6) Windows CE 5.0 Device
7) Windows Mobile 6 Classic  Emulator
8) Windows Mobile 6 Professional Device
9) Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator
10) Windows Mobile 6 Professional Square QVGA Emulator
11) Windows Mobile 6 Professional Square VGA Emulator
12) Windows Mobile 6 Professional VGA Emulator
13)  Windows Mobile 6 Standard Device
14)  Windows Mobile 6 Standard Emulator
15)  Windows Mobile 6 Standard Landscape QVGA Emulator
16) Windows Mobile 6 Standard  QVGA Emulator

All of the Windows Mobile 6 choices "work", but the emulator "form" is always constrained by the skin outline of a mobile device. Choosing WIn CE5.0 Device results in a "not able to connect" message.

OK..now the question: How can I import or install an Emulator that gives me just a form and not a skin, that will run under WinCE6?

Thanks,
Bartj
