Prevent Files from being deleted

Hi All.

I have a custom dialog screen that allows a user to select files/folders for backup (copy) to a chosen backup folder (the backup folder is not under the INSTALLDIR).

This process is working fine - BUT - when I perform a major upgrade or an Add/Remove programs these files/folders are being removed from the specified backup folder.

I thought that since the selected file(s) and backup folder are being selected at Run Time and not at Design Time that the upgrade/uninstall would leave them in place. Is there a technique to do this?

Thanks

Brent
