Question
InstallShield: how to add files after importing a new component
Hi x-perts,
I exported a component from Project A to project B. A new component appears in the list of components of project B
1) The file of the new imported component is not included into a build, though I can see it in the file list (installation designer mode). it is not in the Project assistant mode. How can i add this file?
2) what does a red icon (exclamation) in the list of components mean? i can see it for a new component, but cannot find any conflicts marked.

The red exclamation means that the component is not associated with any features. In order to associate it with one of your features, go to the Setup Design tree node and right click on the feature you want it included in. There will be an option to associate components, choose the one with the exclamation point and you're all set.
This answers both questions actually...that's why it is red and that is why it does not get installed with the program!
