The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

the easiest method is :
1 check in device manager if errors are reported
2 remove all unnecessary devices, leave only 1 harddisk, no cd drives, add-on cards.

Zip your latest minidumps and upload to here. You should find the *.dmp files in your windows or windows\minidump folders.

Your Attachment includes your email address, and that is against the EE Rules. Not having your email address posted also protects you against harassment, so this rule is for your good and privacy. In future make sure you remove any sensitive information from your posts. I'll ask the mods to remove that pdf.

Thanks,

Did you install any new Hardware or software lately that might have caused the error to start?

I am unable to upload the zip file with the Minidump folder. Even though zip files are an allowed extension? Is there another option? Thanks.

Maybe the file is too large. Try the following Link, and don't forget to post a Link once uploaded.

My apologies for missing in action things have been a bit hectic. I have this machine back and it has just blue screened for me nicely. The error code follows:

0x0000000A (0x0000F771, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x80701A8E)

My limited experience tells me there isn't much to get from this error but if someone out there can offer some assistance then great. I will also attach the most recent minidump below. I have renamed each .dmp file with a .txt extension to facilitate uploading here.
Thanks.

It looks like your system files are corrupt, this is probably caused by bad hardware, most likely the HD. Test your RAM using memtest86+, and the HD's using the disk manufacturer's diagnostic utility. if it finds errors, and the utility has an option to repair errors, let it repair them. If it finds that the HD can't be repaired, replace it.

You'll find those tools on the UBCD.

http://ultimatebootcd.com

If the RAM is OK and the disk tested out fine, open a cmd prompt inside XP and run

sfc /scannow

You will probably need your XP CD, as this command will replace bad system files with the originals from your CD. If that doesn't help, or your system crashes and you can't finish the procedure, boot your PC with the XP CD and run a repair installation. This doesn't do anything to your data, it is similar to what the command above does, but it replaces all system files with the originals, whether corrupt or not. After both above procedures you must reinstall the latest servicepack and after that run all the windowsupdates again.
