issue after msi create with wininstall le

i have create a msi with wininstall le of acrobat reader 9 to be deploy with GPO and when i install it with the gpo or direclly the pdf don't have an icon associered with instead it's a generic icon .....

even if i link a icon with the extension pdf in explorer there is no icon apear ....

any help ?

1. you don't have to create this msi; you can obtain the one from Adobe's public ftp site, or by going to http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/rdr_distribution1.html

2.  the problem most likely will go away if you deploy it in the GPO per machine rather than per-user.

good but im having the same issue with skype

what is funny is when i install it on the machine runing the wininstall le that's working  but if i copy the msi on another machine then the icon is broken

It mainly depends on whether it's installed per-machine or per-user. Result of Adobe installation developers trying to be smarter than Installer.

The link I provided in my first comment is working.

Your initial problem was that there's no generic icon when you install by GPO, and I suggested to install per-machine instead of per-user. Did you try it?

i'll give a try but also i want to be able to customize the update feature which i was unable to disable in the msi

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/solutions/it/ - see Adobe Customization Wizard. It allows to disable updating, auto-accept the license, and some other things.
