I've got a script that lets me install Symantec AV unattended with an unmanaged install.
but I'd like to know if i can change it so that the AV will automatically run live update and update the lot.
any ideas or solutions would be greatly aperciated

If you look at page 208 of the following document there is the runliveupdate=1 switch which you don't have in your current script:

In terms of scripting - I cannot help you on that one I'm afraid.
