An ODBC error on any application like this means that either (a) the server does not have the right database connectivity DLLs installed, which is not often the case, because usually servers always install the ODBC links by default, or else (b) the system you are running the application on does not have the right ODBC links installed. For example, when you install MS office, unless you install Access, or specifically select ODBC modules to install with office, the office package on that machine cannot linke to ODBC databases on any server. This is probably your case.
You will probably have to remove the software completely, reboot, and reinstall it, but go through the APP install carefully, looking for ODBC connectivity to be installed with the APP. If there is no choice for this at all, you should contact the vendor and ask them WHY they cannot get their act in gear, and develop an installation that AUTOMATICALLY installs all the ODBC links that the app needs.
I mean, this is real stupid, it is like selling you a car with a V-12 engine, but NO drive shaft -- i.e. no way to make all that HP actually connect to driving the vehicle. Well, many software apps are that stupid.
