I am in the process of exporting a system developed in ASP.NET 1.1 VB.NET 2003 to ASP.NET 3.5 VB.NET 2008. I have declarations for the display of Crystal Reports that return the above title. I am attaching some code some of which is returning the error. I have also attached code I am successfully using in ASP.NET 1.1. May I get the equivalent code in ASP.NET 3.5, VB.

You probably are missing some references.

Also Crystal dropped some methods with CR2008.  Which service pack is installed.  There was an early service pack required for use with VS2008

I installed Service Pack 1, I don't know if there is another.

I don't believe the code changed much but i am not sure since I don't have CR2008 to code against.

You probably have to change to use the CR2008 dlls and viewer.

mlmcc,

The Service pack 1 I have installed is VS 2008 SP1, but I have also seen different Service Pack releases for Crystal Reports, do I need to install them seperately or the one I installed is enough?

It depends on what you have seen.  Crystal releases SPs for each version so you may have seen CR SP4 but it may be for CR XI or some version other than CR 2008.

The package I bought came with three DVDs - VS2008, VS2008 SP1 and SQL Server 2008 all of which have been installed. I assume that VS2008 SP1 included Crystal Reports as well. I have also come across Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack Reference under Business Objects where they have SP0, SP1 and V1 releases.

My question is having installed VS2008 SP1 do I need to install any of the Service Packs released by Business Objects?

The version that comes with VS 2008 is an OEM version and is different from the CR2008 version.

The VS2008 version is actually CR 10.5 and the CR2008 is CR 12.0
You don't need the service packs from Business Objects (now SAP).  If you want to use them make sure they are for the .Net version of Crystal and for VS2008.
