Converting textBox.Text to Hash with VB.NET

Can anyone explain and give code example of how to convert a text box contents to a hashed code using System.Security.Cryptography, as simple as possible please, don't want mega security, just want a way of passing querystrings from sqlDB data that users cant guess and type in to the address bar.
