I am using .Net framework 2.0 and the application is working fine but , since I have installed some windows updates which also includes an update for Framework 2.0, it often give above error while trying to set some properties of scanner via a COM call( the scanner driver API is called from .net to set some properties)

What could be the the possible reason? I did googling and found some post explaining the same issue but most of them are related to Office PIAs version conflicts... but in my case there is nothing like that.
