Somebody has developed a simple ASP.NET webbased application for me on Visual Studio 2005 which requires DOTNET Framework 2. I have a windows 7 PC with DOTNET 3.5 installed on it. The application that has been developed for me is not working on my PC, possibly because I do not have DOTNET Framework 2.0 installed on my PC.
I wish to know if I can install DOTNET Framework 2 on my machine alongside DOTNET Framework 3.5 and if installing both these versions on the same PC is going to cause me any problems.

I'm pretty sure you can install the 2.0 .NET version side by side with the 3.5 .NET framework, this document tell us that we can have multiple frameworks co-existing on the same env.

Current I have all frameworks install on my system:
1.0 - v3.5
You can see what framework is install by looking in the windows directory (i.e. C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\F

When I put the above address in the address bar of the internet explorer I get the following message. From this message I presumed that the error is because I do not have DOTNET Framework 2 installed on my system.

I would be most grateful for further advice
Go to Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
On the left Expand the sites folder and on the first site in the list right click and go to Add Virtual Directory.
Make the Alias setup and point the physical path to the directory that has your code.
You shouldn't have to worry about setting it to use 2.0 that will be the default in windows 7.

3.5 is just extensions of 2.0 so you already have 2.0 if you have 3.5 so your issue isn't what you think it is.
Are you saying the website doesn't work for you when you browse to it? If that's the case it's a problem with the way it's programmed and probably showing up because you have Internet Explorer 8 on windows 7.
