Is it possible to call PageMethods(AJAX) from a HTML page button onclick event?

Hi,
             I need to call server side function from a HTML page (and NOT aspx page )button click event. IS it possible to call using PageMethods property of AJAX?

           The server side function is in a class called Class1.vb and the page from which I should call the function is from HTML1.hm.

            Any other method is also fine for me.
