SQL Update

Hi all, I just want to do a simple SQL update using C# and ASP .NET. I've been looking but can only find it done with Stored Procedures.

This is what I have

cmd.CommandText = String.Format("Insert INTO CONTENT (hits) VALUES ('{0}') WHERE contentLink ="+myLink+"", myHits);

Which is just an insert, any help would be great.

Questions:

1. Do you want to do an update or an insert?
2. What error are you getting?
3. What's the table structure of CONTENT?

I want to do an update, I only want to update one field

I have

ContentID, Link, Conent, HITS

I just watn to update the HITS.

Im not getting any error.

its doesnt post anything, which means its not executing the statement or even getting near the execute. Is the SQL statement above correct and what is the correct systax for an update?
