can we use asp.net web app to create office projects?

Can we use asp.net web application to create a project which will open word documents and user can save it and on save click from word document we execute some code on the server?

If yes then user will have to download word document from our server and modify it and then upload back in, right?

or is there some ways to create these type of projects?

And is the extension for office 11 which runs on mac os the word documents has extension .doc or it is something else?

Are you speaking of a document manager? If so, then yes asp.net can do the trick...

 And yes, it's .doc

and do we need office tools to make this type of project or can we develop without office tools.

can you provide some links to articles etc or can you suggest where we should start.

I would recommend vs.net, but you could use other tools. Download, install, and extend some of the starter kits at http://www.asp.net/Default.aspx?tabindex=8&tabid=47

yes i visited the site, i downloaded the samples.
I know asp.net for web development.
But we need to use ms word in the project so can u suggest some sites books etc
