Sample code for adding a blank row in datagrid in asp.net(in vb and not C#)

I need a sample code in ASP.Net (VB.Net) to add a blank row in a datagrid. Most of the samples are in C#.

I understood the use of textbox2 and textbox4 but why is the following(textbox1 and textbox3) needed??

AND

Textbox1 and textbox3 are for inline editing.  Basically you click the edit button and it will bring up those textboxes so that you can edit the cell data in them.
