Browse All TopicsWe have created a web based application in asp.net using vb.net. In this we have a form that takes some bank details from the visitor that also includes ABA/Routing Number. What we want to do is validate the ABA/Routing Number in real-time using some database.
We are actually looking forward to some secure method like validating the credit card number in real-time using authorize.net or something.
Thanks!

CC number validation is fairly standard. Googling for "credit card number validation" turns up lots of hits. Here's one... http://www.brainjar.com/js /validatio n/default2 .asp

As for routing numbers, being a Brit I'll assume they're what we call "sort codes" and are specific to the financial institution that issues them. Googling for "bank sorting code validation" also returns many hits but they all seem to be charging for the service. However, the Bundesbank does seem to publish its validation rules... http://www.bundesbank.de/z
Hopefully this will get you started.
