Hi Dani,
I am using SQL Server 2000. But in such an application you would need to store the user id as well. On a database level you cannot capture the user id.

Is there a sample code in ASP.NET 2.0 to implement an audit trail for my website? An audit trail that tracks all changes done by authorized users and saves them into a table in the database. I had done something like that in VB6 but I would like to know the standard and most efficient way this could be implemented in ASP.NET 2.0 since I am going to implement it in a professional website/CMS
In VB6 this used to save the user id, the column name, old & new values, and the date of change.

Hi feesu,
What is your database layer? Are you using Ms SQL?
Where do you want to store the audit information. Are you willing to take the overhead for it?
if you are using SQL you will find plenty applications on the market that write for you triggers that will log all the activity in a table.
Cheers!
Dani
