Browse All TopicsHi,
I am totally new to asp.net (C#). I am coming from PHP. Is there a way to have a file with a bunch of functions in it that I can call from any of my aspx pages or do I have to create a class file and create a new class and instantiate the class?
Can you please give me a quick example on how to do either if possible. If I can only do it via a class can you show me a simple class and how to reference that class and instantiate in a code behind page.
Thanks

If you want to use a class for that,
1. Create a new class file (TestClass.cs)
public class TestClass
{
public Function SomeFunction()
{}
public Function SomeOtherFunction()
{}
}
And in your aspx page you could instanciate the class as
TestClass tc = new TestClass();
tc.SomeFunction();
tc.SomeOtherFunction();
The otehr way is by creating a dll and using it as a reference and using those function in it.
But i guess you would be better off using the classes.
