ASP.NET inheritance - Including Methods & Variables

I am designing a new system. I'm very familiar with PHP, JAVA and CGI, but fairly new to ASP.NET.
I am working on a machine with .Net 1.1.

The general layout of my pages are:

<C# code>
Page_Load()...
<C# code>

<html>

<%Use something from the c# code above %>

</html>

I have multiple pages, that have very similar layouts and make very similar calls to a DB, and I have a lot of code duplication.
Is there any method like include() in PHP, where i can store those methods in an external file, and then then just inherit them.
I know there is the notion of the inherit and src, where i write the code in a fileName.cs file, and it get inherited, but then I can't use any of the variables or methods in my original aspx page...
Hope my question wasn't too confusing.. Thanks in advance for any help.
