Saving dataview in Viewstate - Serializing Dataview

I have a dataview that in needs to be saved in viewstate. When i try to save i get error
"Error Serializing value System.Data.DataView t of type System.Data.DataView"

' save dv to viewstate
ViewState.Add("myRecords", dv)
