Hi, WHy I am getting the following error when I try to send email in my asp.net application: "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

This is very generic error in .NET. Whenever you try to access any property or method of an object without instantiating it, you will get this error.
Can you compare your code with below one?
Dim smtp As System.Web.Mail.SmtpMail 'Dont do NEW SmtpMail object
smtp.SmtpServer = "yourserver"
Dim mymail As New System.Web.Mail.MailMessag
mymail.To = "dest"
mymail.Subject = ""
mymail.From = "sender"
