String comparison in .NET

How can x right most chars or like string access/comparison be handled in .NET?
For example: compare str1 has "XYZ" in the rightmost 3 chars.

Dim stringToSeach as string = "Some Text"
Dim NumberOfCharacters as integer = 4

Response.Write (Right(stringToSearch, NumberOfCharacters))

Returns "Text" to the  browser.

note: you might have to import the Microsoft.VisualBasic namespace for that. At least you did in 2003.

You can use string.EndsWith()
if ( true == sTest.EndsWith("XYZ" ) )
{
........
}

They are considered legal characters and compare will fail.

To avoid this, code it like this:

Dim firstString, secondString as String

If    firstString.ToLower.Trim = secondString.ToLower.Trim  then ...

if    firstString.ToLower.Trim.Equals(secondString.ToLower.Trim) then ...

I would go with either wizard's or gelbert's solution, but include   tolower and trim  if case is not an issue in your comparison.
