I have a datagrid bound to a dataset. I used the column properties to create a hyperlink column. I have the following syntax in the url format string of the column.
ledgerdetail.aspx?tenantid
My question is I also have the residents name in one of the columns. So I would like to pass what I am passing as well as the resident name on the same row in a different column when they click on the hyperlink.

However, keep in mind that due to the GET method you will be restricted in terms of character set and size of the values.
sorry, my syntax was C#. However, all the change from C# to VB will be instead of
<a href="ledgerdetail.aspx?te
to
<a href="ledgerdetail.aspx?te
You cannot easily achieve this just by changing a property in datagrid.
You can, but you should either change your view (or dataset that you bind to) by adding an extra column that will format it, or you will have to handle the databind event to change the contents of the control directly.
Much easier to code, to maintain and even performs better is to change the datagrid, by adding this template field column. How do you currently declare the columns? do you leave it to autogenerate them?
No I dont auto generate. I set up the columns in the datagrid columns property. So for that column I bound the tenantid data to a hyperlink column. So when I press that hyperlink can I catch it in vb code sowhere and change and use the command server.transfer bla bla bla. By the way I do appreciate you trying to help me.

If I am understanding you correctly, you should be able to add in the Resident name when the data is being bound to the datagrid.
