how do you change the parameter source for a datasource in ASP.NET VB.NET 2.0?

I'm am trying to change the parameter source on the fly for a datasource in ASP.NET 2.0 (VB.NET).
Basically, if the querystring is empty, I need to make the parameter from a listbox control value instead.
