Getting and setting value in <asp:checkbox>

Hi.
I need to build a form which will consistof 300 checkboxes. (I know this is a lot, but this is a very specific requirement. that I cannot change)

I need a 'simple' way of attaching a unique code (integer) to each of the cheboxes..

My problem is that I can only get this working by using ListItems in a CheckBoxList instead of actual CheckBoxes. This doesnt work with the layout as the 300 checkboxes are spread over the page with different cells in a html table - therefor multiple CheckBoxLists would be required which starts getting complicated.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I could use:
<input id="Checkbox22" type="checkbox" value="22" runat="server" />

But is that acceptable for .Net web application???

If I use an html checkbox with runat="server",  how would I iterate through them?

You can loop through the HtmlInputCheckBox controls like this:

    foreach (object ctrl in Panel1.Controls)
    {
      if (ctrl.GetType() == typeof(System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputCheckBox)) 
      {
        System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputCheckBox h = (HtmlInputCheckBox)ctrl;
 
        if (h.Checked)
          Label1.Text += "value is " + h.Value + "<br/>";
      }

Why doesn't the <asp:Checkbox> have a value property?
