Error when converting string to date

Zones: Programming for ASP.NET, Microsoft Visual Basic.Net, .NET Framework 2.0

Tags: ASP.NET

I am trying to convert the textbox to date, the value of the of the textbox is as shown below but it is giving me an error that it is invalid

txtStart.text value = 24/04/2008 09:47:51

Conversion from string "24/04/2008 09:47:51" to type 'Date' is not valid.

Does anybody have any ideas why this is happening and how can i solve this problem?
