The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. What is the equivalent to a MessageBox in Web development?  Need a message box or pop-up to troubleshoot the web server.

Greetings:

I'm trying to troubleshoot the production server.  For some reason I don't get the same results on the production server as I do for my local IIS server.

Since I can't figure it out I'm thinking if I include a pop-up or message box I'll be able to establish what's happening.  I've tried writing out a log file but this doesn't work either for some reason.  

I'm new to Web development.... does the IIS server protect against such things as log files?  Why wouldn't this approach work for logging my errors?

At any rate, I'm hoping to obtain the code that will enable me to launch a box which displays the value of a certain string.
