I have an ASP.NET website which works on a server but not on my machine. (I just copied the code from the server to my machine)
I get the error "ORA-12504: TNS:listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATA"
It seems to happen on the line
Dim myConnection As New OleDbConnection(Connection
where connectionstring is
"Provider=MSDAORA;User ID=INV_ROUT;password=xxx;D
Any ideas?
Thanks

In order to connect to an Oracle database, you will need a file called "tnsnames.ora" which contains the necessary settings for the Oracle database. It seems that you don't have the file on your local machine. You should be able to copy the one from server and pasted on your machine.
