Prevent automatic pop-ups

Hi,
I developed one asp.net website, in that there are some hyperlinks which will open a pop-up window and play a video in that pop-up, upto this its working veryfine but the problem is when i refresh the main page which have hyperlinks the pop-up window is opening automatically. How can prevent this? Please help me.
