Browse All TopicsI am using an ASP.NET DataList connected to MS SQL Server to display a list of available training dates to our clients. I have a column named "expDate" in my database table with a datetime data type. The "expDate" represents the date a particular training date would no longer be listed in the DataList our client's see.
I would like to compare today's date with the expDate and not show the DataList item if the expDate is less than today's day. Is this possible with a DataList or should this be done with some other control?
I'm wondering if this can be done in the SQL SELECT statement, or if SQL Server itself should run a procedure every night that removes rows from the database, which I've never attempted.
Currently I've created a dataset that displays the training list by productID, databound it to the DataList, and am attempting to compare the dates, but I'm stuck as to where to go from there. Code is below, date-specific stuff is toward the bottom where I trail off.

Try using SQL's "GetDate" function (which returns the current date) and do it in your sql with:
