never solved the actual problem.
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to read the server logs in the express version of SQL 2005 from SQL Express Mgmt Studio or there is a bug.

Clicking on SQL 2005 Express Server Log file does not open the log viewer.
Clicking on SQL 2005 Express Server Log file does not open the log viewer.
I'm trying to look at the SQL 2005 Express server logs (not the data logs) in SQL Server Management Studio Express.
Normally, you simply double-click the log name and it opens a log viewing window.
Is this feature not supported in the express versions? Where are these logs stored? (I searched the entire machine for *.log, but no sql logs shows up)
