Browse All TopicsI am creating an asp.net website. One of the pages is a "contact book" where they can select email addresses and send out a mass email (perhaps hundreds). What is the best way to send out emails when doing a mass email? Should I send them out ONE by ONE or put ALL the emails in the BCC and send it out? Will it even handle that many?
I'm worried of timeout issues or other issues....
Currently I'm emailing using the standard asp.net way, like http://www.codeproject.com

dont send one by one, just use the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) and separate email addresses with ; (semi-colon)
we use to send pre-define newsletters templates to all website users using this.. previously we did faced some issues
so we split the users for 100 emails address per message.. so far working out good.
you can also reference this post: if you have access to SQL 2005 Messaging Framework, but the above one work out to be good.

no i remember... we split the users upto 50 users per email message... this was because we were facing spam problems, our emails were categorized as spam. also suggested by our hosting provider (we have a dedicated server). so split the number of users in each emails to 50 (however you can send more, just make sure to validate email addresses before sending email)
