Browse All TopicsHello,
I have the following requirement:
On page load, Active orders should be displayed . I am using an ASP.NET gridview to display it.
Active Orders have active_flag=Y. I have to give the user an option to select inactive policies as well.
I wanted to query the DB once during page load and then display the Active policies only on page load.On selection of Inactive policies, Can data from the same dataset be used, without querying the databse again?
Please suggest a good way and code too .

You can opt to use DataView object. The criteria can be re-fiilter as needed. But, you may need to pull out all the data first, then use the built-in filter preference. You have to decide if this method of re-query resource is better consume web memory or database memory.
eg:
Dim view As DataView = New DataView
With view
.Table = YourCurrentReturnedDataTab
.RowFilter = "active_flag= 'Y'"
End With
