Question

How do I get my ASP.NET application to recognize the ReportViewer DLLs in its own Bin directory?

I have an ASP.NET application that I am publish to my UAT and Production servers and my RDLC pages are erroring out.

Method not found: 'Void Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer.Reset()'.

I have tried including them in my Bin folder and making sure they are in my web.config.

I'd really like to NOT have to have the report viewer redistribution package on the servers.

OK new wrinkle...

I just found out the MS Report Viewer Redistributable is on my UAT server.  


I am still getting this error.  How do I get my ASP.NET app to reference the Report Viewer Redistributable on my UAT web server?

I wasn't able to actually fix this because I don't have access to the servers where the updates need to be installed.  But this looks like the solution as the versions were out of sync.
