Question

Datagrid control error when exporting to excel

Asked by: kdeutsch

I put a linkbutton on my datagrid and now when exporting I get this error.

Control 'myDataGrid__ctl2_lnkClose' of type 'LinkButton' must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server.

Everything on the form is in teh form tags.  I have done some reasearch and it seems it is a MS bug but I don't see fixes for it, is there a way to fix this.

HI,
I have all that, I just started happening when I put in the linkbutton as part of the datagrid, after this it would not allow me to export the datagrid and would give me the error, but if I take it out it works just fine and I can export all day long.

if i understand correctly , you have a column with linkbuttons, if so then set linkbutton column.visible to false in the exporting function
