I am declaring a variable "strUsername" in my page_load subroutine and setting it as the value of a cookie. I would like to use this variable in my document with a response.write command but it is saying the variable is not declared. What is the best way to handle this problem?

As I said, VB uses the keyword Shared instead of Static. Although I disagree with that is what you need here is the syntax.

Declare it as a "static" variable outside of the Page_Load. The variable's are restricted to the routine in which they are declared.
