Ok, first of all to answer your post dated 1/11/09, Yes it is possible as my answer on my original post states.
Now, answering your latest comment (post question really...). If you are not creating your pages at run-time (meaning you are creating all your pages using VS designer) then all your pages are static and you do not need to complicate yourself with dynamic master pages.
The best solutions are the KISS solutions (Keep it simple)
