LINQ Casting VAR

I'm new to LINQ and I'm trying to figure out how to cast the results so I can return to a calling method.

thanks for your help!

SoftwareCustomerDataContext db = new SoftwareCustomerDataContext();
 
        var ids = (from c in db.Customers
                   join l in db.Locations on c.CustomerID equals l.CustomerID
                   join s in db.States on l.StateID equals s.StateID
                   join n in db.Countries on s.CountryID equals n.CountryID
                   select new { l.ControlNumber, l.LocationName, l.City, l.PostalCode, n.CountryName, s.StateName }).ToList();
 
 
        return ids;

The return type of such a query is of type Anonymous and can not be used outside of the function or method it was created in. One thing you can do to get around this issue is to create a class with properties of all the return items, see snippet below. Then in the query assign the values to a class member as shown below. In the code snippet the return type should be List<MyResults>.
