how to use regular expression to take out spaces, quotes, etc

I am getting an error saying 'Name Regex is not declared'

We can fix that... forget what I've written before, and use this.

    Public Function String_Cleaner(ByVal thisString As String) As String
        Try
            Return System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Replace(thisString, "[^\w\.@-]", "")
        Catch ex As Exception
            MsgBox("Error Found")
        End Try
    End Function

ok, i tried to compress all the above to:

Dim csvData As String = txtCC.Text
         
csvData = Replace(csvData, "[^\w\.@-]", "")

part of my text was cut off.  my above post did now work. can you tell me how to make it work in the above format?

ugh!! i meant to say "did NOT work", not "did now work"

That wouldn't work very well.  After putting in the code from my last message, you can put in..

Dim csvData as String = String_Cleaner(txtCC.Text)

ok, the above worked, but it stripped out the commas of my csv string, thus making it inoperable.

i tried to add the comma to the function, like this:

Return System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Replace(thisString, "[^\w\.@-,]", "")
        Catch ex As Exception

but that only returns the following error:
