Thanks for the reply but I don't use any datagrids to loop thru the recordset.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have a web service that extracts user information. My client, which is in Vb.NET, is calling this method. I need to iterate through this recordset (I dont how its called in Web Services lingo). So, what is the syntax for calling each item in that web service recordset-like?
I have used this but it gives out an error:
Do
xyz.GetUsers.Tables(0).Row
' more codes
' ...
Loop

You don't need to loop through anything if you use a datagrid/datalist/etc. All you do is bind it and you are done - all the data is displayed.
I actually posted a similar question earlier today about not using a datagrid, as I'm not quite sure how to bind to the variable with xxx.tables.xxx syntax.
Hopefully one of us will get an answer :)

Add a data grid griddata1 to your aspx page
In your code behind page, add something like this:
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
If Not Page.IsPostBack Then
bindData()
End If
End Sub
Private Sub bindData()
Dim rs As New DataSet
Dim ws As New BL.CustomerLink
rs = ws.GetEvents1(0, "777", 0, "777walsh", 0, "1", "0", "0", "0", "0") ' ## your WS params here ##
gridData1.DataSource = rs.Tables("Event")
gridData1.DataBind()
end sub
