XP Pro Sp2 error installing .NET 1.1 framework
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 has ended prematurely. If this persitsts, please contact product support.
XP pro SP2 this happens as soon as begin installation.
What's been done so far.
I disabled firewall and uninstalled MS's new spyware remover
Also uninstalled and tried reinstalling .NET and installing from Auto updates = every time I get this same error.
please help me to install it.

Aaah, another in the long list of complaints from people who are using XP SP2. I feel for you, man :)

I installed it sucessfully, here it the SOLUTION:
1. Create another USER ACCOUNT (Ctrl Panel | User Accounts) with full ADMINSTRATOR permissions.
2. Login on that account and install .NET framework 1.1 redistributable
3. Log back on the primary ACCOUNT and use it // I think you can even delete that other USER ACCOUNT at this point.

Yes I just deleted that other temporary USER ACCOUNT and .NET works perfectly!

this create a log file which is located in %tmp%\netfx.log, read it to obtain more info.
