Software trials wrapping options

Asked by Masurium in .NET

Hi experts,

I have been using ExeShield to wrap my software .exe so that it will expire after 30 days.  It has worked fairly well, up until now.  The problem seems to be related to my .exe loading a component that requires .NET 2.0.  Has anybody else encountered similar issues?

I have also looked at alternatives including Armadillo and Aladdin's software for trials, but they all seem to have the same weakness when it comes to .NET 2.0. (ExeShield worked fine when the component used .NET 1.1)  I am trying to investigate InstallShield TrialWare, but they have slow to respond on some issues about licenses.  And I don't really know what other alternatives are out there past these.

I would love to find a package to perform the wrapping.  I hope somebody can help me determine a work-around or an alternate package for creating try-and-die software demos.

Thanks!
