Question

Regular Expression Help

I am new to regular expressions.  I am trying to create one that matches a code:

First character is between A-C (not case sensative)
Next Character between 1-12
Next Character between 1-12
Next Character between 1-5

Here is what I have:

^([A-Ca-c][1-12][1-12][1-5])$

However, I tried: c333 and it is not working.

Can someone please help and let me know what I am doing wrong?  Thanks!

^(([A-Ca-c])([1-9][1-2]?)([1-9][1-2]?)[1-5])$

The reason yours didn't work is that [1-12] is non-sensical it translates to 1-2 or 2 which simplifies to 1 or 2
