MySQL Connector/NET hangs on specific table insert

I'm attempting to insert a row into a table with MySQL Connector/NET but my program freezes on ExecuteNonQuery(). Inserts to other tables work fine. Just for some reason it doesn't work for this particular table. If I attempt the insert from within MySQL Query Browser it works perfectly.

Here's my table's create command:

CREATE TABLE  `filestormer`.`tags` (
  `tag_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL,
  `tag_name` varchar(100) NOT NULL,
  PRIMARY KEY  USING BTREE (`tag_id`)
) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 CHECKSUM=1;

I've tried restarting the server, changing the engine to InnoDB, dropping and re-creating the table and running repair operations on the table. Nothing has worked so far.

I've tried both Connector/NET 6.04 and 6.12.

Any ideas?
